SOUTHAVEN — Southaven Mayor Greg Davis will be DeSoto County Justice Court on May 2 for allegedly passing a stopped school bus.
Davis went to the DeSoto County Sheriff’s Department after misdemeanor warrants were issued for his arrest Tuesday. The Commercial Appeals reports Davis was freed on $1,100 bond.
Steve Farese, Davis’ attorney, says a witness will confirm that Davis was following a vehicle that passed the bus illegally. Farese said Davis only passed the bus in order to see the first vehicle’s license plate.
If found guilty, Davis faces a fine of $50 to $500 on the charge of illegal use of blue and red lights and a fine of between $200 and $500 on the charge of overtaking a school bus.
