Magnolia Speech School president retiring

Anne Sullivan, the executive director of Magnolia Speech School, is retiring at the end of the year. Sullivan will leave after 32 years of service. During that time, she worked as a teacher, supervisor and assistant director at the school.

She briefly left to be an instructor in the Communication Department at Mississippi College, but returned in 1994 as the executive director. Sullivan said in a news release that she has worked to expand the school’s services to include a statewide Early Intervention Program and Clinical Services and to partner with universities to train professionals to continue the work of listening and spoken language services.

The Magnolia Speech School board of directors is conducting a nationwide search for Sullivan’s eventual replacement.
