OCEAN SPRINGS — Ocean Springs city attorney John Edwards says it would be possible to have a draft of a noise ordinance for the city within two weeks.
He said he could have something by the next Board of Aldermen meeting, but he cautioned city leaders many cities take their time adopting such an ordinance.
He says they wait until they have something that works and that businesses and residents can live with.
He says he needs to get with the police chief before turning in a draft.
In Ocean Springs, The Sun Herald reports the popularity of late-night bars and restaurants has caused problems in nearby residential areas.
Alderman Bobby Cox said he is getting pressure from residents and he would like to see a draft of the ordinance.
