C Spire announces video contest

Ridgeland telecom provider C Spire Wireless says its ringing in the new school year with a “user-generated” video contest for high school classrooms in Mississippi, Tennessee and Alabama.

In a release the company announced that the “#School Spirit” video contest will be part of its Bright Lights high school football rivalry program. Students will produce and enter a short video showcasing what makes them proud of their school including athletics, classes and clubs.

The contest runs August 27-September 30 and submissions are already being accepted at cspire.com/spirit.

The grand prize winning video will be broadcast during the final Bright Lights high school football rivalry game on October 4 between Picayune and Pascagoula.

All schools who submit entries also will be eligible for a $5,000 school spirit scholarship grand prize for the best overall entry and the ultimate bragging rights.

Individual $1,000 school-based scholarship prizes will be awarded in three categories based on overall student enrollment and criteria that include originality, creativity and viewer votes.
