Building contractor arrested after two-year search

JACKSON — A building contractor has been arrested following a three-hour manhunt in Hinds County, according to Attorney General Jim Hood.

Alvin Dennis Hall, 47, whose last known residence is Edwards, was indicted by a Madison County Grand Jury in 2009 after the Attorney General’s Office investigated a report alleging he accepted $10,000 for contracting work and then failed to complete the services for a homeowner in Madison.

After two years of searching for Hall, investigators followed a recent lead that Hall was residing in Edwards and looking for home repair work in Louisiana following the aftermath of Hurricane Isaac. As Investigators approached Hall at a location in Edwards Tuesday, he fled into some nearby woods and was captured a few hours later.

Hall faces 10 years imprisonment and fines up to $10,000 if convicted of the charges against him. He was booked into the Madison County Detention Center and is awaiting his initial appearance.
