Search continues to replace jailed housing authority director

LELAND — A committee looking for a new leader for the South Delta Regional Housing Authority has narrowed the field of 95 applicants down to five.

It plans to present the top three candidates to the board in coming months.

SDRHA board attorney Kelly Hardwick tells the Delta Democrat Times there is no timetable to get a new director hired.

Hardwick says once the board settles on the three candidates, interviews will be scheduled.

Patricia Logan has served as South Delta’s acting executive director since the arrest of former Executive Director A.J. Jefferson in 2011. Jefferson was convicted in a kickback scheme and is serving a 32-month sentence in federal prison.
