Bryant declares state of emergency after Christmas storms

Gov. Phil Bryant has made a state of emergency declaration for several Mississippi counties after severe storms moved through the state yesterday.

Used as an administrative tool, the declaration allows the state to offer support to all areas impacted by the severe weather.

So far, at least eight Mississippi counties have reported damages and some injures including: Forrest, Greene, Hinds, Jones, Lawrence, Pearl River Stone and Wilkinson counties.
