Peterson earns accolade

Daniel Peterson, director of Mississippi State University’s Institute for Genomics, Biocomputing and Biotechnology and scientist with the Mississippi Agricultural and Forestry Experiment Station recently won a national award for his collaboration with a team of scientists to map a cotton genome. Jason Case, of Brookhaven, was recently named the Delta State University South Central Alumni Chapter 2012 Outstanding Alumnus of the Year during the chapter’s annual meeting at State Bank in Brookhaven.
