Refinery makes $1M donation to Audubon Society programs

PASCAGOULA — The Chevron Pascagoula Refinery is donating $1 million to the Pascagoula River Audubon Center and another National Audubon Society program, the Mississippi Flyway.

The Sun Herald reports the majority of the money will go to support operations and educational programs for a new $2 million center, soon to be built on 10 acres along a bayou in downtown Moss Point.

When the 5,000-square-foot building is finished, the center will move from its location on the Pascagoula River just north of Interstate 10.

Alan Sudduth, spokesman for Chevron in Mississippi, says the donation is part of the Pascagoula Refinery’s continuing relationship with the Audubon Center.
