SBA, AARP to present entrepreneur business forum on Gulf Coast

sba logoThe Small Business Administration’s Mississippi District Office and Mississippi AARP will host an Encore Entrepreneur Business Forum from 1 to 4:30 p.m. on April 17 at the Westside Community Center, 4006 8th St. in Gulfport.

The free event is targeted at entrepreneurs 50 and over to provide these “encore entrepreneurs” with resources to start or grow a small business.

The SBA has business resources and tools to help entrepreneurs start and grow their business at any stage of life. Partnering with AARP helps the agency to connect with Americans over the age of 50 who are ready to become their own boss.

The event will help connect encore entrepreneurs with mentors from SBA’s network of Small Business Development Centers, Women’s Business Centers, SCORE chapters and Regional Cluster who can help throughout the life of an entrepreneur’s business. Small business owners with long-term counselors see bigger sales, hire more workers and last longer.

To register, contact Gary Reed or Bridget Johnson Fells at 228-863-4449, ext.223 or ext. 225, or email gary.reed@sba.gov or bridget.johnson@sba.gov.

We do it because it is important to us … and equally important to you, if you value the flow of trustworthy news and information which have always kept America strong and free for more than 200 years.

If those who read our content will help fund it, we can continue to bring you the very best in news and information. Please consider joining us as a valued member, or if you prefer, make a one-time contribution.
