CORINTH — Building permit activity in the first three months of the year was sharply higher in Corinth.
The Daily Corinthian reports the Corinth School District’s softball complex accounted for about two-thirds of the quarter’s total of $4.356 million. In the same quarter a year ago construction permits totaled $555,350.
CIG Contractors obtained a permit for the $2.9 million softball complex on March 1.
Other commercial projects include the Smith restaurant on North Fillmore Street at $200,000, and a $68,000 project for a liquor store on East Shiloh Road.
The first quarter included three new-home construction starts — one in January and two in February. No permits for single-family construction were issued in the first three months of 2012.
