HARRISON COUNTY — Sand is a road hazard drivers along U.S. Highway 90 in Harrison County know all too well.
WLOX-TV reports work is underway that should keep more sand on the beach and off the roadway.
While Harrison County crews worked to clear huge amounts of sand from the medians in Biloxi yesterday, over in Pass Christian it was a different story. Sand beach director Chuck Loftis says workers in February lowered the sand level along the seawall in Pass Christian.
Loftis says crews are working to get other parts of the beach lowered to 42 inches from the top of the seawall. Loftis says it’s constant battle to keep up with the blowing sand.
Loftis says fencing is going up to combat erosion.
