County recoups money stolen by former facility manager

CORINTH — The state auditor’s office says an investigation into a former manager of the Crossroads Arena in Corinth has resulted in money returning to that facility.

State Auditor Stacey Pickering’s office said in a news release the investigation looked into misappropriation of public funds by Reggie Churchwell, the facility’s former manager.

Pickering’s office says Churchwell misappropriated public funds from the arena by failing to document receipts. Officials say Churchwell had the responsibility to supervise and account for all the arena’s funds as its director.

The $25,277.23 returned to Alcorn County includes principal and interest costs.
