MCDILL: Jackson's panhandling pandemic


This photo (found at travelthewholeworld.com) was taken in front of the Mississippi Business Journal building at the corners of Congress and Amite in Jackson. This panhandler, Timothy, is a regular, although not always welcomed, to the business people of Downtown Jackson

Jackson has a huge problem.

Bigger than potholes. Smaller than crime. But still huge.

This is the part where the economic developer says that perception is the problem.

Not exactly, but it ties in with perception.

The problem is panhandling.

    I met him, he always asked me for money arround Jackson downtown, he is not agressive and he told me that he has cancer
