MDEQ lifts advisories on three stretches of beach

GULFPORT — The Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ), through its Beach Monitoring Program, has lifted three water contact advisories issued May 31.

The cleared stations are:

• Station 8 — Gulfport West (from Maria Avenue east to Camp Avenue

• Station 9 — Gulfport Harbor Beach (from 20th Avenue east to Thornton Avenue

• Station 10 — Gulfport Central (from Alfonso Drive east to Arkansas Avenue

Stations 10B and 11A are still under MDEQ advisories.
