HATTIESBURG — Attorneys for Hattiesburg Mayor Johnny DuPree and candidate Dave Ware continue to trade jabs through legal documents just five days away from the start of the trial over the June 4 election.
Attorneys for Ware, who challenged the election results that showed DuPree netted 37 more votes, filed more than 20 subpoenas on Wednesday.
Yesterday, The Hattiesburg American reports Ware’s attorneys responded to DuPree’s motion for summary judgment stating the request should be denied. The action was among several measures filed this past week.
Specially appointed Judge William Coleman will rule on the motions made by DuPree’s and Ware’s attorneys in a hearing on Monday. The trial is set to convene Tuesday in Forrest County Circuit Court.
