COLUMBIA — St. James Lighting is expanding its operations in Columbia to create 20 new jobs.
The announcement came yesterday from the company and the governor’s office.
Officials say the $225,000 investment will meet a growing demand for its products. The company currently has 23 employees.
St. James Lighting manufactures handcrafted copper lighting fixtures and custom interior chandeliers and pendants.
It will relocate to the facility formerly occupied by Orleans Furniture to accommodate the increase in production.
The Mississippi Development Authority provided assistance through the Community Development Block Grant program for renovations to the publicly-owned facility in which St. James Lighting will locate. The City of Columbia also provided assistance for the project.
The company began production in 2008.
