GREENVILLE — A Greenville aircraft painting firm is paying a $19,000 civil fine for failing to maintain records and renew its environmental permit on time
Leading Edge Aviation Services agreed in September to pay the fine to the Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality.
A Sept. 26 order published by the department says that Leading Edge broke the terms of its permit by not keeping records for five years and not providing complete records to MDEQ. The company also failed to submit its permit renewal application six months ahead of its expiration, as required. The company did seek to renew its permit in August.
Leading Edge operates a location at Greenville Mid-Delta Regional Airport.
Chris Harano, president of the California-based company, signed a form agreeing to waive hearing rights and pay the fine.
