The Delta city of Leland has lost the leader of its chamber of commerce, but has gained a full-time author.
Robert Neill has retired as executive director of the Leland Chamber of Commerce, a position he has held for the past seven. His resignation was effective Sept. 30.
A three-time Pulitzer Prize nominee, Neill said he plans on focusing on his writing. He wants to republish two of his books and write a new one, which would be his 13th.
The interview process for replacing Neill at the chamber is underway.
