JACKSON, Miss. – Just in time for Tropical Storm Karen to make landfall this weekend, the Mississippi State Department of Health (MSDH) is introducing a smartphone app to stay up to date on health and safety information throughout Mississippi during an emergency.
Features of this app include:
• Push, text or email notification of essential health precautions in a disaster, outbreak, or emergency
• Steps to take to prepare ahead for chemical and biological threats; floods; nuclear incidents; severe weather and natural disasters such as hurricanes, tornadoes, and earthquakes
• A list of important MSDH phone numbers and an emergency hotline
• A checklist of items to have on hand should an emergency arise
To find the app, search the App Store for MS Ready, visit www.HealthyMS.com, or follow the links below.
