Steel processor to site plant in Attala County

KOSCIUSKO — Attala Steel Industries is unveiling a new facility.

The $5-million galvanizing facility will allow the company to coat steel, in addition to the steel processing it already does at the Kosciusko facility.

The company has 34 employees and plans to hire 11 more. Attala Steel invested $5 million in the project.

Gov. Phil Bryant cut the ribbon yesterday. The Mississippi Development Authority provided $50,000 to help the company transport heavy equipment.

Attala Steel’s facility produces steel I-beams used in solar panel installations. The company has operated in Kosciusko since 2006.
