GULF OF MEXICO — Several Mississippi oyster reefs have been closed because of questionable water quality.
The Mississippi Department of Marine Resources closed the reefs. They will remain closed until further notice.
The affected areas include:
— Area II “A” waters, including northern portions of the Pass Christian and Henderson Point reefs and Hornets reef.
— Area II “B” waters, including the Waveland and St. Stanislaus reefs.
— Area II “C” waters and its subdivisions of 2 “E,” 2 “F” and 2 “G,” which include southern portions of the Pass Christian and Henderson Point reefs, Square Handkerchief reef and northern portions of the Pass Marianne and Telegraph reefs.
— Area II “D” waters including the public reefs in St. Louis Bay between the U.S. 90 and CSX railroad bridges.
