BILOXI — The Biloxi Planning Commission has voted to allow city arborist Eric Nolan to decide the fate of several trees that may be too close to the proposed parking garage for the new baseball stadium.
Plans by Dale Partners architects call for the removal of 19 protected trees on the stadium site off U.S. Highway 90. But a few trees designers thought could remain may not be able to be saved because of their proximity to the parking structure.
Construction also usually requires a few feet more of land to be cleared when building a foundation.
The Sun Herald reports the commission has discussed the trees during previous meetings, and yesterday’s hearing was over the application for removal of the 19 Live oaks.
