Ground to be broken next week for baseball stadium

BILOXI — City of Biloxi officials will break ground next week on their new downtown baseball stadium.

Mayor A.J. Holloway tells The Sun Herald  Gov. Phil Bryant is expected to be on hand for the ceremony on Thursday.

A group led by Ken Young bought the Class AA Huntsville Stars and the team will move to Biloxi when the stadium opens in 2015.

During a special meeting Tuesday, architects and engineers will provide the Biloxi City Council with details of the construction.

  1. This is really tragic. The criminal cronies of Bryant will be raking in BP money, Beau Rivage will get a free parking garage, the people of Biloxi will get a lousy ball club that will die out after a few years and they will pay $21 million in a bond issue they never asked for. And right now the tree killer extraordinaire of Biloxi, the “arborist,” is cutting down 20 live oaks over 200 years old that survived Katrina.

    Fools.
