MDA provides funding to Grenada manufacturer

GRENADA — The state of Mississippi has provided $200,000 to refurbish a metal stamping press at a Grenada manufacturer.

The money was provided through the Mississippi Development Authority’s Job Protection Grant program. The program is designed to help local industries retain jobs and grow their businesses.

Officials say Grenada Stamping is spending $250,000 of its own money to complete the project.

Grenada Stamping Project Manager B.J. Anderson says the press is used to make parts for appliances and automobiles.

Grenada Stamping has added 165 jobs in the last three years.

The factory makes parts for automobiles, appliances and heating and cooling equipment.
