STARKVILLE — Mississippi State University provost and executive vice president Jerry Gilbert is a finalist for the president of Austin Peay State University.
Others are Southern Utah University provost Bradley Cook, Florida College System chancellor Randall Hanna and University of Texas at Tyler provost Alisa White.
The Tennessee Board of Regents this past week selected the four finalists from 80 applicants. It hopes to name a new president by mid-May.
Austin Peay president Tim Hall is becoming president at New York-based Mercy College. Austin Peay, in Clarksville, Tenn., has more than 10,000 students.
Gilbert became provost and executive vice president at Mississippi State in 2010.
He joined Mississippi State in 1988 in the College of Veterinary Medicine. He became associate provost and associate vice president for academic affairs in 2004.
