During a press conference today in Ridgeland, chefs John Folse and Rick Tramonto unveiled plans for Seafood R’evolution, an upscale restaurant offering a cultural fusion of foods and flavors that have shaped the Gulf Coast culinary landscape for generations.
Seafood R’evolution, with a select menu of items paying homage to Mississippi’s rich culinary heritage, will be located in Renaissance at Colony Park and scheduled to open mid-September.
The Ridgeland restaurant will be the second for the chefs’ developmental company, Home on the Range: Folse Tramonto Restaurant Development Company.
During the event, Gov. Phil Bryant said the restaurant will bring 150 jobs to the area as this will mark the making of the “new culinary epicenter of the South.”
Their first endeavor, Restaurant R’evolution, opened in the New Orleans Royal Sonesta Hotel in 2012 and instantly won culinary acclaim. Gayot proclaimed Restaurant R’evolution one of the top 10 new restaurants in the United States, Conde Nast Traveler billed it one of the top new restaurants in the South and New Orleans Magazine picked it Restaurant of the Year.
The Seafood R’evolution menu will offer seafood specialties including fresh Gulf fish filleted or served whole from the wood-fired grill. There will be an award-winning steak program as well as fowl and game dishes and a selection of regional sandwiches and po’boys.
Other speakers included Mississippi Development Authority Tourism Division Director Malcolm White, architect Bill Johnson and Renaissance co-developer Andrew Mattiace.
