Ann Jefferson was convicted in 2012 in federal court in Aberdeen, Mississippi, of embezzlement, obstruction of justice and witness intimidation. She was ordered to pay more than $41,000 in restitution.

Prosecutors say Jefferson converted money from several housing authority accounts to her own use. She also was accused of retaliating against three witnesses.

Jefferson also was ordered to serve three years of supervised probation.

The 5th Circuit panel found the evidence against Jefferson was overwhelming.
