In Mississippi broadcasting circles, Gerold Smith is known as the state’s youngest radio station owner.

Ever since the Jackson native can remember, he’s had an affinity for music, and radio became the vehicle to fuel his passion.

Now CEO of Titan Broadcasting Company, Smith, 36, began his radio career at WJSU-FM, Jackson State University’s campus station. It was there that he learned how to program, perfect voiceovers and nurture his on-air skills.

In 2012, the former Nissan factory line worker realized his broadcasting ownership dreams with the purchase of radio stations BDAY 99.1FM and 970AM in Brandon. With his radio stations, Smith feels his contributions to helping small businesses grow are offering affordable advertising rates to reach their targeted audiences.

In his leisure time, he enjoys traveling, flying model airplanes and organizing his vast comic book collection.
