Dean James H. Rosenblatt of Ridgeland was elected as Fellow of the Mississippi Bar Foundation.  He was inducted into membership at the Foundation’s Annual Meeting and Fellows Induction Ceremony held at the Old Capitol Inn in Jackson in April.

Dean Rosenblatt was raised on the Rosenblatt family farm in Fort Adams, Mississippi, and attended school in Woodville. He is a cum laude graduate of Vanderbilt University where he was a member of Omicron Delta Kappa and served as the president of his senior class. He graduated from Cornell Law School and received an Army commission in The Judge Advocate General’s Corps. following his admission to the New York Bar. Eighteen years of his Army career were in senior legal leadership positions such as Commander and Staff Judge Advocate. Colonel Rosenblatt retired after 30 years of service to become the Dean of Mississippi College School of Law. During his eleven years of service at Mississippi College School of Law, Dean Rosenblatt has overseen the construction of a modern downtown law school campus, the creation of oversees study programs, a broadened Moot Court program which has won national recognition, and an expanded curriculum with a range of professional and skill-based courses.  He has served as past president of the Charles Clark Inn of Court, the Mississippi Chapter of the Federal Bar Association and has been recognized twice for his contributions to the judicial system as a recipient of the Chief Justice’s Award. He will transition to a full-time faculty position in August to teach courses in Government Contracts, Military Law and Operations, and International Law.

The Mississippi Bar Foundation was organized in 1963 to improve the administration of justice.  Among other programs, it presently administers the Interest on Lawyers Trust Accounts Program, which has awarded over thirteen million dollars to public interest, law-related programs in Mississippi.
