JACKSON — In the wake of the April 28 storms, the Secretary of State’s Office will travel to any eligible voter who needs a Mississippi Voter ID card.

“Many Mississippians are struggling to put their lives together after the deadly tornadoes,” said Secretary of State Delbert Hosemann. “Having an acceptable photo ID to present on election day should not be one of their worries. We want to provide a convenience to anyone who lost their identification during the storms and may not have a photo ID to present on election day.”

Currently, the Secretary of State’s Office provides free transportation to and from the circuit clerk’s office to any eligible Mississippi voter who needs a Mississippi Voter ID card. Circuit clerk’s offices will continue to issue Mississippi Voter ID cards, even when a citizen is not a resident of that county.
