Veteran venue manager Rick Reno has been named to replace Billy Orr as executive director of the Mississippi Fair Commission.
Reno is currently executive director of VenuWorks in Dodge City, Kan.
The Louisiana native has more than 40 years in facilities management and is a certified facilities executive recognized by the International Association of Venue Managers.
Reno has also managed at venues in Oregon, North Carolina, Kentucky, and Virginia.
Reno takes over for Orr, who recently retired from the fair’s top executive post post after 27 years. Orr will work with Reno in the transition and will remain on staff as the public relations director for the Mississippi Fair Commission.
The Mississippi Fair Commission Board and Commissioner of Agriculture and Commerce Cindy Hyde-Smith made the selection of Reno.
