Baptist Memorial Health Care is eliminating 112 jobs across its three-state service area.
While Baptist has stated less than 1 percent of the corporation’s 15,000 employees will be impacted, the cuts are being made to reduce costs.
Jason Little, president and CEO of Baptist, said the changes were caused by the “changing health care environment…and improving operational efficiencies.” Baptist hasn’t placed an exact number on how many of the eliminated positions will be from the Memphis area, but more than 75 percent are expected to be local.
