CLEVELAND — Cannon Motors of Mississippi has entered into a new partnership with Delta State University Athletics. Through its dealership in Cleveland, Cannon Ford Lincoln, the company will be heavily involved with DSU Athletics during the football, men’s and women’s basketball and baseball sports seasons.

“Being involved in the Cleveland community has been a lot of fun for us,” says Tyler Cannon, general manager of Cannon Fold Lincoln. “It’s an honor to be able to increase our involvement by working with a program as great as Delta State Athletics.”

Cannon Ford Lincoln is hosting an “Enter-to-Win” contest for four game-day passes to Delta State’s homecoming football game against Mississippi College at the Parker Field-McCool Stadium on Nov. 15. The passes include a parking pass and four pre-game and post-game field passes. Participants can enter when they test drive a car at Cannon Ford Lincoln in Cleveland or at Pig Pickin’ on Sept. 27.

“We are always looking for new ways to bring our surrounding community into Delta State,” says Ronnie Mayers, director of athletics at Delta State. “The relationship that we are establishing with Cannon Motors is one that is capable of benefitting not only the university, but also the residents of Cleveland and surrounding areas.”

Cannon Ford Lincoln will be at Pig Pickin’ on Sept. 27 and is the half-time promotions sponsor during the men’s and women’s basketball season at Sillers Coliseum. Also for the first time, “Cannon Kids Sunday Base Race” will be held during the Delta State baseball season. The event allows children to run the bases for free after every Sunday baseball game at Ferriss Field during the 2015 baseball season.
