Natchez Trace sees drop in visitors in August; year-to-date numbers flat

TUPELO — The number of visitors to the Natchez Trace Parkway so far this year is essentially flat compared to 2013, and the Trace saw a significant decrease last month.

Superintendent Mary Risser said, “This year, 496,436 people used the Parkway in August, compared to 533,555 who were counted in 2013.”

In 2013, the Trace reported 3,947,525 visitors from January-August. The Trace saw 3,947,812 visitors from January-August 2014.
