HANCOCK COUNTY — There will be lane closures along I-10 beginning next week in Hancock County at the Mississippi-Louisiana state line due to a Pearl River bridge repair project, according to the Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT).
Work is scheduled to begin Oct. 14 and is expected to take about two weeks to complete. One lane in each direction eastbound and westbound will be closed while repairs are being made. Wide loads will be restricted to a maximum width of 11 feet.
Work will take place 24 hours straight during the two week timeframe in order to expedite the project.
Motorists should consider alternate routes while repair work is taking place, as major traffic delays are expected during this time.
The bridge joint repair project on I-10 over the Pearl River was awarded to Key, LLC of Madison for $450,000.
