BKD, LLP’s has added Jesse Alford as senior manager in the firm’s audit department of its Jackson office. Alford has more than 10 years of experience providing audit and advisory services to clients in a number of industries. He also has experience with internal audit procedures and consulting services and one year of private industry experience. Alford is a member of the American Institute of CPAs, Mississippi Society of Certified Public Accountants and the University of Mississippi Patterson School of Accountancy’s Accountancy Order. He is a 2002 graduate of the University of Mississippi with a B.S. degree in accounting and an M.Acc. degree.
BKD, LLP’s Jackson office has also added Aren Atkinson, Chris Johnson, Corbin Stanford and Meg Huntington as staff accountants in BKD’s Jackson office. Atkinson joins BKD in the audit department. She is a recent graduate of Mississippi College where she received her bachelor of science in business administration, accountancy, and graduated magna cum laude with an MBA in accounting in May. While at Mississippi College, Atkinson was a member of the School of Business Student Advisory Board, Delta Mu Delta, Accounting Society, Investment Club and won the Sandra Parks Academic Achievement Award. Atkinson is the recipient of the Mississippi Society of Certified Public Accountants Senior Excellence Award.
Johnson joined BKD in August 2014 as an audit associate. Before joining BKD, he worked as a petroleum landman for over two years throughout the South and Midwest. Johnson is a graduate of the University of Mississippi’s Patterson School of Accountancy where he received his bachelor and master of accountancy degrees. While at Ole Miss, Johnson was a member of the Beta Alpha Psi Honor Society and Kappa Alpha Fraternity.
Stanford joined BKD in August 2014 as an audit associate. He is a graduate of Mississippi State University’s Adkerson School of Accountancy where he received his bachelor in accountancy in May. While at Mississippi State, Stanford was a member of Beta Alpha Psi Honor Society, Kappa Sigma Fraternity and Sigma Alpha Lambda Honor Society.
Huntington joins BKD in the tax department. She received her bachelor of business administration in accounting at Millsaps College in May 2013. While at Millsaps, Huntington was a member of Chi Omega, Millsaps College tennis team, Millsaps cheerleader, Campus Ministry Team, FCA, College Republicans, Wesley Foundation and Intramural Athletics. She received many awards and scholarships while at Millsaps. In August, Huntington received her masters of accountancy from UM’s Patterson School of Accountancy. While at Ole Miss, Huntington was elected vice president of programming for Beta Alpha Psi and worked as a graduate assistant at UM’s Center of Educational Research and Evaluation. Huntington is the recipient of the Neil Magruder Scholarship Trust from the Mississippi Association of Public Accountants.
