The Mississippi chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA Mississippi) held its annual Design Awards Celebration Thursday, Oct. 16 at Duling Hall in Jackson.
The Design Awards Celebration “seeks to applaud architecture and design by bringing attention to all components of the program through an event which highlights the art in the architectural profession.”
Added last year as part of the AIA Mississippi’s signature event, Mississippi Celebrates Architecture, this year the Design Awards Celebration recognized 11 projects from dozens of entries involving everything from churches and museums to government and health care facilities.
The presentation ceremony included three Honor Awards, three Merit Awards and five Citations.
The biggest winners were Duvall Decker Architects, P.A. and WFT Architects, P.A., both of Jackson, which took home two awards each.
