MDOT closing Coast bridge for upgrade project

roadGULFPORT — The Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT) plans to temporarily close the Wilkes Bridge along Highway 605 in Gulfport next week.

Beginning at 10 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 22, MDOT will close the Wilkes Bridge to perform required upgrades. Once the bridge has been closed to traffic, MDOT crews will replace hardware on the Wilkes Bridge.

The repairs are expected to take just a few hours to complete and traffic is scheduled to re-open to traffic during the early morning hours of Thursday, Oct. 23
