Lack of pharmacists in Clarksdale forces consolidation

medicineCLARKSDALE — Two Clarksdale pharmacies will soon consolidate into one store.

Henderson Drug Inc. pharmacist Val Soldevia tells The Press-Register that he sometimes has to call eight to 10 pharmacists to fill all shifts for a week. And he says the nearest lives in Oxford, 60 miles away.

So he’s consolidating his downtown drugstore with his Economy Drug, which is smaller and near the local hospital.
