GRENADA — An Illinois company will invest $350,000 to expand its Grenada factory, adding 60 jobs.
Suburban Plastics, based in Elgin, Illinois, announced last week it would expand its current factory by 25,000 square feet to increase production. Vice President Jeremy Baxter says the company has “a strong trend of continuing growth” in Grenada.
The Mississippi Development Authority is loaning the company $700,000 to build the addition, and is giving the company $260,000 for an access road and $60,000 for one-time moving expenses. The city of Grenada is providing $27,615.
The company, operating in Grenada since 1997, currently has more than 50 employees. It makes plastic and composite parts for uses including electrical devices, home construction, heating and air conditioning sensors.
