Mitt Romney

According to multiple media reports, Mitt Romney will not seek the Republican nomination for president in 2016, according to people familiar with his decision.

Mr. Romney, the former Massachusetts governor, was expected to share his decision on a conference call with a small group of advisers and later with a larger group of supporters on a subsequent call.
By not pursuing a third White House bid, Mr. Romney frees up scores of donors and operatives who had been awaiting his decision, and creates space for other potential center-right candidates such as Jeb Bush.

  1. As a Democrat I regret that Romney will not run. But there are still Bush, Cruz, Rubio, Huckabee, Carson and so many others whom I would love to see lead the Republican Party against Hillary. Republicans spend so much money and energy on candidates who can’t win in one or the other of the primaries or the general election. Rand Paul might be able to shuffle the deck of the electorate in favor of the GOP but I doubt he can win the nomination. Also he would have to have his father locked away somewhere until after 2016.
