Thompson announced $499K grant for Alcorn State

alcorn-stateLORMAN — The U.S. Department of Agriculture is providing $499,794 in food and farm research funds to Alcorn State University.

The grant announcement came Wednesday from U.S. Rep. Bennie Thompson, D-Miss.

The money comes from the USDA’s National Institute of Food and Agriculture.

The money will be used for research and education into regional and state programs of farm profitability, renewable energy, forestry, food nutrition and safety and others.
