The Home Builders Association of Jackson held its annual Members of the Year awards presentation in December at The Home Builders Association of Jackson office. The awards luncheon is held to recognize those members who have gone above and beyond for the Association.
The 2014 HBAJ Big Spike of the Year was awarded to Jeff Salmons with HouseWorks, LLC. This award is given to the member who recruits the most new members during the year. Salmons was also the winner of the HBAM’s President’s Cup in 2014 for bringing in the most members statewide.
Christian Cowan, Christian Cowan Builder, won the 2014 Builder of the Year. Cowan has been in the construction business for nine years, served as chair of membership, past chair of education, and numerous other committees with HBAJ.
The 2014 HBAJ Associate of the Year was awarded to Billy Ray, MMC Materials. Ray was also given the distinguished honor of being the State Associate of the Year. Ray is currently the Vice Chair of The Home Show Committee and serves on the HBAJ Board, and is very involved with HBAM and NAHB committees as well.
The association also held its annual installation of officers. President of the Home Builders Association of Jackson 2015 is Steven G. Smith, a Certified Professional Builder with Charter Builders, LLC. As the HBAJ President, Smith oversees all aspects of the association, including the Chair for the Executive Committee.
Other officers: Todd Seymour of Timbercrest Homes, LLC, is vice-president, Carl Sandberg of 3S Homes, LLC, is secretary/treasurer, Shane McLendon, CPB, CAPS, of Home Remedies, LLC is builder vice president, Kevin Kinkade with Trustmark National Bank, is associate vice president, and Jeff Salmons, CPB, with HouseWorks, LLC is immediate past president.
