The Higher Education Appreciation Day, Working for Academic Excellence (HEADWAE) will honor Dr. Angela Gaddis, Chair and Associate Professor of Social Work, for her contributions in promoting academic excellence in Mississippi higher education. She will take part in the State Capital Awards Luncheon on Feb. 17 that will celebrate all of the 2014-2015 HEADWAE recipients.
HEADWAE was established by the State Council of Institutions of Higher Learning and honors an outstanding faculty member from each institution of the Mississippi Association of Colleges.
Gaddis’s fellow faculty members nominated her on the areas of teaching, research and professional service. The Legislature based their selection on the criteria provided by the faculty members.
