RIDGELAND – Miranda Lambert, the reigning queen of country music and its top female performer over the past five years, will be the featured headliner artist during a special Memorial Day weekend concert at Renaissance at Colony Park in Ridgeland.

Dubbed “Miranda Lambert Live,” the May 23 live concert sponsored by C Spire and presented by Alcatel-Lucent will also feature one of CMT’s Next Women of Country, RaeLynn, who scored the highest charting debut single by a solo female artist in 2014 and catapulted to the #1 spot on the iTunes country songs chart with the gold-certified “God Made Girls.”

Tickets for the 7 p.m. concert, which will be held in the green open space area just off Highland Colony Parkway between the Renaissance shopping center and the C Spire corporate headquarters office building, go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 13. Tickets are $45 each for general admission and $99 each for a limited number of premium VIP passes, which offer special access to an exclusive experience tent in a fenced area near the stage with complimentary food and beverages. Gates will open at 6 p.m.

Lambert is currently on a 30-city nationwide tour to promote her latest album, Platinum, which is nominated for a Grammy for Best Country Album of the Year.  She has a total of 4 nominations including best country collaboration for her performance with Carrie Underwood of her single “Somethin’ Bad”.

The Grammy award-winning singer-songwriter from Longview, Texas has received some of country music’s highest honors, including a record five consecutive Country Music Association (CMA) and Academy of Country Music (ACM) Female Vocalist of the Year awards.  Lambert currently leads with eight nominations for the upcoming 50th annual ACM awards.

Another track off the Platinum album, “Automatic,” already has landed Lambert CMA’s best single of the year and CMT’s best female music video of the year. The wistful, nostalgic track also was nominated for Grammy awards as best country solo and best country song of the year.

Currently on the road with the Certified Platinum Tour, Baytown, Texas native RaeLynn will continue to share the stage with Lambert. The Voice season 2 alum, RaeLynn, is featured on “Buzzin” from coach Blake Shelton’s latest album and has recently released her Me EP.

This is the second major country music concert hosted by C Spire at the iconic Renaissance at Colony Park. In 2013, Darius Rucker, the former front man for Hootie and the Blowfish and the first black artist to score a No. 1 country single since Charlie Pride’s “Night Games” in 1983, rocked the stage with tracks off his True Believers album, including the bluegrass-infused “Wagon Wheel.” Other top artists who performed with Rucker included The Swon Brothers.
