LAKE — A Scott County judge has approved the town of Lake plan to annex 20 acres southwest of Interstate 20 where Love’s Travel Stops & Country Stores wants to locate.
Chancery Judge David Clark signed an order earlier this month to grant the town’s annexation petition.
The landowner had agreed to the annexation.
Steve Walters, real estate project manager, says Oklahoma City-based Love’s plans include 82 parking spots for diesel trucks and gas bays for other vehicles. There will also be shower accommodations for travelers, a retail store with a Subway restaurant and a truck tire center. The business will have up 40 employees.
Walters tells The Scott County Times construction will start sometime between May and June and will take about six months.
