BILOXI — The Biloxi Shuckers baseball team and Overtime Sports will kick in at least $925,000 in upgrades to the minor league baseball stadium to hurry construction.
The Sun Herald reports the city council voted unanimously Tuesday and without discussion to modify the lease agreement.
The upgrades include:
» $325,000 for audio/visual equipment
» $275,000 in video upgrades
» $100,000 for entrance upgrades
» $100,000 signage upgrades
» $75,000 for suite upgrades
» $50,000 for company switch upgrade
Tim Bennett with Overtime Sports, a part-owner of the Biloxi Shuckers, says the changes in the contract definitely will speed up the timetable to get the stadium open. He said it could save months on the original schedule.
The team and Overtime Sports will complete the work by June 1, under the terms of the contract.
