PASCAGOULA — Federal officials are investigating an accident at Ingalls Shipyard in Pascagoula last week that sent an employee to the hospital.
On Monday, company spokesman Bill Glenn told The Sun Herald the company prepared a release but did not send it to the media. He did not say why the release was not sent last week.
When asked Monday for the information, he released this statement saying Ingalls emergency personnel responded to a call of an injured employee in the shipyard. He did not say how the employee was injured.
Glenn says the employee remains hospitalized and continues to receive treatment. He said the company is cooperating with OSHA in an investigation of the incident.
