Tasha Bibb, Innovate Mississippi’s entrepreneurial development manager, was named Innovator of the Year by the Arts Alive Foundation and Savvy Lifestyle Magazine. She was presented the award at the inaugural Young, Gifted & Empowered Awards ceremony Feb. 22 in Jackson.
Young, Gifted & Empowered honors individuals in Mississippi who champion education, innovation, business, leadership, arts and philanthropy. Award recipients must be between the ages 25 and 45, have demonstrated a noteworthy commitment to excellence and community service, and exhibit a high level of character, leadership and innovation through both professional and personal growth.
Through her role at Innovate Mississippi, Tasha assists entrepreneurs along the path to commercialization. She works directly with more than 120 startup companies each year, assisting with their business plans, development and funding. She also coordinates the Startup Weekend Mississippi business creation competitions, the annual New Venture Challenge business plan competition and the annual Company & Investor Spotlight business pitch event.
